The Humble Slice of Toast
You’ve got to love toast.
White, brown, granary, malted, seeded, sourdough – the bread doesn’t matter.
It’s just so versatile – it can be eaten sweet or savoury, morning, afternoon or evening, as a snack or a full-blown meal.
When you’re feeling or been poorly, what’s the first thing you try? A slice of toast.
Fancy a change from cornflakes for breakfast? Toast with butter, marmite or marmalade.
Quick lunch? Boiled eggs with toasted soldiers.
Just home from work and want something quick until supper’s cooked? A slice of toast.
Back from the pub and need something to soak up the beer? You got it, a slice of toast.
Toast can also be so much more than just a quick snack.
Add some beans, cheese, egg (or even all three) and you’ve got a substantial lunch.
Got a toasted sandwich maker? Go for it!
Top with cheese, tomato & seasoning – poor man’s pizza!
Serve with eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom & beans and you a have Full English Breakfast.
